Mural Monday: Delicious & Refreshing

the words:
This restored ghost sign is on the side of 220 Main Street, an art deco style building
constructed in 1929. The slogan, “Delicious and Refreshing” was used by Coca-Cola in 1904;
not sure if there is a significance associated with the date. Considering the year the building
was constructed, perhaps the 1929 slogan of “the pause that refreshes” would have
been more appropriate. There was no signature of the artist on this mural.

Virtual Trip to Perú

In April 2009, Mui and I traveled to Perú. Our two-week adventure took us to Cusco, the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, Lake Titicaca, and Lima. We had a fantastic time, and I got to celebrate my birthday at Machu Picchu, even if the sun did not cooperate to give me the sunrise I was hoping for.
So, why this post? Because we finally completed the editing of the hours of video Mui took on that trip.

Mural Monday: Ulu Camii
Kütahya, Turkey (October 2012)

These murals decorate the columns of the central dome of Ulu Camii (Great Mosque);
I have no information on who painted them, or when. Construction of the mosque
itself began in the 1380s and was completed in 1410. While original to the
mosque, I imagine the murals have been restored over the years to keep them fresh.
