Rome, Italy
Temps: HI 91F (33C) / Lo 70F (21C)
Today was a day of of rest — I don’t think anyone would begrudge us a bit of downtime before we start exploring in earnest all that Rome has to offer. Not that we sat on our behinds all day. There were chores to do — things like filling up the larder; purchasing local transportation passes. The former didn’t take us far — just five flights down to the supermarket next door. For the ATAC passes, we ended up walking to Piazza di Spagna so I did get to see the Spanish Steps today.
“La Dolce Vita” … the sweet life … happy hour on the terrace of our fifth floor apartment.
Our Roman vacation is off to a good start!

Godere, buoni Amici !!!
ReplyDeleteOh boy, what a beginning!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely the good life! MMMmmmmm gelato. And the sunlight looks golden, just as I would imagine it should in Italy. Looking forward to seeing Rome a bit through your postcards.
ReplyDeleteDid you throw a coin in the fountain? Have a wonderful time!
ReplyDeleteNice! We have not been in Rome for 18 years:(
ReplyDeleteNot yet Barbara; unfortunately the fountain is shut down for renovation and is surrounded by a dirty glass/plexiglas wall which take all the fun out of this tradition.
ReplyDeleteYum!
ReplyDeleteenjoy your Rome vacation! I can bet there will be some great photographs in your future posts!
ReplyDeleteHoy, 32 hours? Yikes, that's a long haul. Your happy hour snack looks inviting! Too bad about the fountain :- (
