Back from Ecuador

Yes, we’re baaack!

I’ll begin posting about our fantastic adventure as soon as I get some photos processed.  How quickly that happens will depend on what I find heaped on my plate when I go to work tomorrow :-)  I have thousands of photos to cull through; always a sign of a good trip!

In the meantime, here’s a video compiled from a Keynote presentation (Apple’s PowerPoint application, if you will) that I created to take you on a quick, 64-second voyage through the Galápagos Islands on Celebrity Xpedition’s B Itinerary.

Galápagos Itinerary from mui erkun on Vimeo

We sort of knew in advance what to expect of the Galápagos.  We went with high expectations; we were not disappointed.  We enjoyed an experience that balanced the wildlife, the landscape, the ecology, and the geology of the islands.  And we made a few new friends in the process.

On the other hand, we had no real idea of what to expect of mainland Ecuador.  And WOW — did it ever deliver an excellent experience.  One that was equally as wonderful and impressive as the islands, but in a very different way.  We’re so glad we added the up-front days in Quito and its environs.

Plenty more to come from our trip.  For now, though …  see you later or as they would say in Ecuador … hasta luego!
